The Fight Scenes

While season one had a lot of action scenes, we wouldn’t really count most of them as fight scenes, per se. Sure, there was Five in the donut shop and the final battle between Vanya and her siblings, but those are nothing compared to the next-level action of season two.

Starting with the very first episode, we’re treated to an action sequence that rivals Avengers‘ quality, as the family comes together to fight off the Soviet army running loose in downtown Dallas. The concluding battle at Sissy’s farm is also perfection, with each member of the Umbrella Academy able to demonstrate how much they’ve grown as fighters themselves.

Also, we loved the power upgrades this season. Klaus being able to summon ghost soldiers into battle, Allison being able to directly affect someone with her rumor power (“I heard a rumor that I blew your minds.”), and Diego’s gravity-defying manipulation of bullets were all noteworthy additions to the team’s arsenal this season. We also got to see just how powerful Vanya is as she deflects a missile launched at her torso with ease and sends out a shockwave that takes out acres of renegade Commission agents.
