Let’s talk about the worst Harry Potter movie. It’s Chamber of Secrets
Every series has a movie that is the one that no one wants to rewatch and, for the Harry Potter series, that movie might just be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
The Harry Potter series has some great movies and focusing specifically on just the original series, there is one movie that many want to skip over. It’s probably the Chamber of Secrets. A little too much like the book, the movie is just kind of long and boring.
It’s not that the story isn’t important, it very much is. But when you breakdown Chamber of Secrets to its most basic plot points, it’s about the school being terrified of an invisible snake in the walls and then, by the end, you learn everything you need to know about the Weasleys and Voldemort and Harry.
There isn’t anything particularly wild about it and it isn’t keeping you constantly on the edge of your seat. It’s sort of just a filler of exposition. So the movie tends to be the one that I, at least, skip over when revisiting the series.
Now though, there is The Crimes of Grindelwald to deal with when talking about the worst movie in the series but focusing, specifically, on the original films, Chamber of Secrets is just a movie that doesn’t give us that much. Sure, Half-Blood Prince stuffed way too much information in one movie and made the reveal of Snape being the Half-Blood Prince seem almost cheesy but at least there were fun moments in it.
Chamber of Secrets has very few, if any, moments where it’s just fun for a little while.
