2. Bane

Bane has to be next in this lineup. Tom Hardy used the full-force of his acting abilities along with a unique voice, and an intense workout regime to make Bane one of the most memorable Batman villains of the Nolan trilogy.

Bane probably has one of the most intriguing backstories and as with any good villain, his reasons for fighting against “the good guys” are very relatable and could be seen as reasonable if he wasn’t killing people in the process. He encourages people to fight and destroy the rich and corrupt.

Bane’s story starts in the prison called the Pit. While there he defended a young girl who later became his partner in trying to defeat Batman. His mask came after he was attacked by prisoners and because of those injuries needs a constant dose of analgesic to keep his pain at bay.

Bane is later rescued by Ra’s al Ghul and taken into the League of Shadows, a group he eventually becomes a leader of along with Talia al Ghul.

Bane is also another villain that is actually a physical threat to Batman. Bane is intensely strong and ends up breaking Batman’s back at one point and throws him in the Pit. No other villain does that much damage to Bruce Wayne in this trilogy.

Bane is also in one of the more memorable scenes of the entire Nolan trilogy. Bane invades the New York Stock Exchange and takes over one of the biggest financial centers in the country. For everyone who felt less than pleased with Wall Street after the recession, this scene might not have been as tragic as it might have been at another time.

Tom Hardy’s Bane will be hard to beat (despite criticism about his voice) when they eventually put the villain in another Batman film.
