Chris Evans sends special message as Captain America to a heroic Wyoming boy
By Lacy Baugher
Chris Evans doesn’t just play a superhero onscreen, he knows how to spot one in real life too. The MCU star sent a heartwarming message to a heroic young boy who rescued his little sister.
In this trash fire of a year, we all need reminders that good things can happen – particularly when we remember to look out for and take care of each other. You may have seen the amazing story of a young Wyoming boy named Bridger Walker earlier this month, but it’s the sort of incredible tale that’s definitely worth sharing over and over again.
Bridger is just six years old, but he already knows what it means to be a real-life hero. He jumped in front of a German shepherd when it charged his four-year-old sister in a friend’s backyard, placing himself in between the two. He was bitten multiple times on his face and head and had to receive over 90 stitches as a result. But, according to his aunt’s Instagram post that went viral, Bridger is in “great spirits” and doing fine. (And was only worried that something bad would happen to the dog.)
The little boy’s heroic actions have won him many admirers on social media and around the world, including Captain America himself, Chris Evans. The Marvel star is just one of the celebrities who have reached out and congratulated Bridger on his heroism, including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zachary Levi, and more.
But Evans’ video will message will probably stand to the little boy, since he delivered it in the voice of Steve Rogers himself.
The Walker family shared this moment on Instagram and honestly, just get some tissues ready.
Evans-as-Rogers tells Bridger he’s a hero, and promises to send him an official Captain America shield of his own. (Basically, Chris Evans is a perfect human, fight me.)
Get well soon, Bridger! We would all do well to remember this lesson of how important it is to take care of and protect each other during these dark and frightening times.
