Peacock: 10 must-watch movies and shows on NBC’s streaming platform
Psych
Maybe you’re looking for something a little more lighthearted but no less violent. On the other side of the serial killer spectrum is Psych, a detective comedy-drama about Shawn Spencer, a private detective with an uncanny gift for solving crimes. However, to get out of explaining his abilities, he convinces local law enforcement that he’s a psychic, and uses his “powers” to help solve crimes with the help of his best friend, Doctor Watson Gus.
Psych may be a comedy but the mystery is also top-notch, so it’s the perfect show to compromise on when one half of the house wants to watch a mystery, and the other half is looking to laugh.
Do the Right Thing
If you were a fan of his recent Netflix hit Da 5 Bloods, why not throw back to one of Spike Lee’s earliest (and most iconic) films: Do The Right Thing. The film follows a neighborhood in Brooklyn divided by racial tensions on the hottest day of the year, and as the temperature rises, tensions come to a boil in more ways than one.
Starring Giancarlo Esposito (better known to most audiences as Breaking Bad‘s Gus Fring), Do the Right Thing is both hilarious and poignant — the perfect example of Spike Lee’s ability to make magic on film. Just as impactful today as it was when it came out in the ’90s, Do The Right Thing is a strong addition to the Peacock catalog.
