Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 7 episode 7 preview: Welcome to the ‘80s
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has Mack and Deke trapped in 1982. With no idea when they’ll see their team again, they’re about to make the best of things.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has split up the team once more. But this time, there’s a time difference and not just space.
Because Mack and Deke are now stuck in 1982 and the rest of the team (Enoch included) time jumped … somewhen else.
Here is the official synopsis for this week’s perfectly-titled episode, “The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and The D,” courtesy of ABC:
"“After being unexpectedly stranded in 1982, Mack retreats to his childhood home to process the death of his parents, while Deke gets to work scouting a chart-topping group of new agents. With no idea if or when the team is coming back for them, time seems to finally be on their side … at least until the killer robots show up.”"
I mean, if we get a Keanu Reeves cameo, that would be excellent. But … we probably won’t.
Honestly, I can’t imagine it will be much longer before the rest of the SHIELD team reappears, mostly because the budget can’t accommodate too much anti-aging or extra-aging for its characters.
I could see Agents of SHIELD leaving Deke and Mack stranded for … maybe two years at the most. Change up some haircuts, maybe a few extra lines, and we’ll be good.
All that being said, I anticipate this week’s episode to be absolutely ridiculous. Straight-up 1980s. Cheesy soundtrack, ridiculous hair, colorful outfits, over-the-top dialogue … Mack’s going to be right at home, and Deke will probably adapt relatively quickly.
What do you expect to see in this week’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD? Will Mack and Deke be reunited with the team? Or will they be stuck in the ‘80s for another week?
