Josie and Lizzie, Legacies

A spin-off of The Originals (which was a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries), Legacies takes place at the Salvator school for supernatural children and teens. TVD veteran Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) is the headmaster, and the twins that he had with Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), by way of Caroline (Candice King), are now teenagers coming into their own as powerful witches. While they often work together, they have completely opposite personalities. Josie (Kaylee Bryant) is reserved, cautious, and bisexual. Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) is boisterous, reckless, and boy-crazy.

The second season of Legacies saw big changes for the Saltzman twins, especially Josie. While trapped in a prison world with the psychotic murderer Kai Parker (Chris Wood), Josie had to embrace her dark side in order to free her family and friends. “Dark Josie,” a nod to Buffy‘s Dark Willow, tried to force The Merge to happen sooner rather than later in an effort to gain Lizzie’s powers, killing her in the process. Lizzie learned to open up to others, shedding her former spoiled brat persona, and stepping into the shoes of a true hero.

Although the second season was cut short due to COVID-19, we look forward to seeing the twins reunited in 2021.
