Ever think about Hogwarts students not getting to watch television while there?

We’ve talked time and time again about Hogwarts and their lack of internet connection but how to do the students keep up with all their television shows and what not?

The students of Hogwarts got to learn magic, live in a castle, and use wands on a daily basis. But what they didn’t get to do was keep up on their television programs. It is something that has continued to come back to me over and over again.

Whether or not it was really that important is not the point here. The point is that there is an entire world of growth and news and understanding that these students probably just missed out on because they were in school in a remote location.

Think about all the world events that happened while they were away studying. Was there like a catch up session that we just never read about in the books? A moment for everyone to just kind of go “Alright so here is what you missed while you were studying magic”?

It’s a strange thing to think about because, as kids, we were probably just more interested in the magic of it all. But now that we can look back and realize how removed they were from everything, it is interesting to think about how every summer vacation was probably filled with a catch up of the months they were away until jumping back into school and then having to catch up again once everything was said and done.
