The Harry Potter series has been over for quite some time now but for whatever reason, many of us still love our favorite couples from the franchise. Why is that a thing?

When it comes to relationships in the Harry Potter series, everyone has opinions. And we mean opinions. For years, the battles between ships were grand and many would fight for the honor of their favorite couple.

Now, not much has changed. The series just is over and people are still fighting about couples that either ended up being “endgame” or were not but are still favorite ships. In fact, one of the most popular ships online is still Remus Lupin and Sirius Black.

So what is it about this series that keeps us coming back to our favorite couples? Is it just that we were kids and continued to love these characters long after everything was said and done? Or is there something else that brings us back time and time again?

The series, as a whole, has so many characters that fans cling to that a lot of it comes from the fact that they just want to relive their favorites as many times as possible. Sure, Harry and his friends are great but it is more about the secondary character we have come to love throughout reading and watching the movies. Those are the characters we write about over and over again and keep turning to.

So it may never die down to stop and that’s okay. We can continue to love the franchise and enjoy it in our own ways.
