The Golden Trio has stepped up to share their support of the trans community now that Rupert Grint talked about Rowling’s statements in a new interview!

Rupert Grint joins the ranks of the Golden Trio and has opened up about J.K. Rowling’s transphobic remarks on Twitter. Much like Daniel Radcliffe, Grint is not on social media, so the actor was doing an interview when he spoke out against the Harry Potter author.

Talking to the Times, Grint addressed Rowling’s tweets in a brief statement. “I firmly stand with the trans community and echo the sentiments expressed by many of my peers. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. We should all be entitled to live with love and without judgment.” And Grint is very much right.

The Golden Trio speaking out and commenting on Rowling’s views isn’t necessarily a drag of the series that made them famous, not by a long shot. Instead, it shows their dedication to the fans of the series who were hurt by Rowling’s words and are standing with the trans community.

Rowling’s comments were just hurtful to the trans community, they were hurtful to her own fanbase and everyone who believed in her because she had a platform and a responsibility to help and instead, she chose to be hurtful with her words. Having actors like Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint standing up for what’s right? That’s what the Harry Potter series was always about and it is wonderful to see them speaking out against the author and doing the right thing
