Why Daniel Radcliffe speaking out against Rowling means the world to so many
Daniel Radcliffe coming out in support of the trans community is wonderful for a lot of reasons but seeing Harry Potter stand up against J.K. Rowling? That’s something else entirely.
When Daniel Radcliffe decided to speak out against Rowling’s comments on the trans community, fans rejoiced. Not only is Radcliffe a wonderful actor and human who has continually donated to the LGBTQ+ community throughout the years, but he is still our Harry Potter.
So him taking a stand against Rowling and making it clear that he was going to stand with those who found joy inside the series shows us the kind of person that Radcliffe always was. Daniel Radcliffe is the kind of actor who understood the importance of the Harry Potter series to fans.
He knew that it created a world for fans to escape to and didn’t want to discount their experience with the franchise, unlike Rowling who shared her views without care for how her fans would take it. So, to see how these fans now cling to the stars of the Harry Potter series and what they stand for isn’t surprising. It’s sad that that’s where we have to look now because Rowling did essentially forced their hands but it is still great that fans can look to Daniel Radcliffe.
Daniel Radcliffe is the actor that brought our hero to life and now, he’s the one we can still support and praise. So it’s wonderful to see him use his platform to continue the community he’s shown his support for for years.
So we can continue to love and support Radcliffe and that is something that’s wonderful.
