Is HBO Max going to eventually give us a Harry Potter series?
HBO Max is a part of Warner Brothers which has constantly produced the Harry Potter films so does that mean we could have a Harry Potter series with the platform?
The Harry Potter series has been a bit of a mixed bag currently. With J.K. Rowling’s recent transphobic comments to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series not doing well, many are questioning what is next for the franchise.
With HBO Max, many are hoping that it could lead to a new series to come out of the world of Harry Potter and, if that’s the case, hopefully, we can separate the series from Rowling as much as possible and focus on storylines that many fans want to see.
It’d be great to see a series based on the Marauders and maybe actually give fans the LGBTQIA representation that they’ve been asking for for years. It’d be even better if the studio let a trans creative take it on because of the remarks of Rowling.
With the state of the world, many of us like to turn to the Potter series but right now, it’s a bit hard because it feels like we’re supporting someone who doesn’t care about human rights. So if fans have the option to make the series better and more inclusive, it might be time to let different creatives take on the world.
Sometimes, someone doesn’t realize what they’re giving to fans and that’s most definitely what happened with Potter and, hopefully, with HBO Max, we could see other creatives try and take on the series and bring new vision and life to what we all once turned to for hope and guidance.
