Need some help deciding what to read this month? We run down 13 of the best new YA book releases hitting shelves this June.

It feels a bit cliche to say, but a good book is an underrated and extremely important tool for getting us through these unprecedented times. As we enter a summer of uncertainty, with COVID restrictions, workplace closings, and canceled vacations everywhere, a book can offer us an escape in the form of a heartfelt romance, a magical fantasy, or a new spin on a popular literary work.

The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on publisher schedules everywhere, pushing back many expected titles that were expected to hit shelves this month. (Some of them will instead release in July, August, or even later this Fall.) But despite those shifts, there are still over a dozen exciting new book releases that are worth your time this month.

With everything from the latest installments in several popular ongoing series to highly anticipated new debuts, there’s something for everyone this June.

Here are our picks for the best new YA releases headed our way in the month ahead. Enjoy – and make sure you let us know what you’re reading!
