‘We Have a Hulk’

The first Avengers film is full of fantastic one-liners, but “We have a Hulk” remains one of the best statements in the film — and, of course, it comes from none other than Tony Stark. Before the fight against Loki and his minions officially begins in New York, Tony attempts to persuade Loki to call the whole thing off.

The interaction between Tony and Loki is one for the books, especially given how overconfident both characters are. And watching Tony lay the whole situation out — emphasizing that there’s no way Loki comes out of this on the winning team — is immensely satisfying. Almost as much as hearing him respond to Loki’s “I have an army” with “We have a Hulk.”

And we’d be remiss to mention how hilarious it is that Loki’s mind control doesn’t work on him purely because of the Arc reactor in his chest. This moment is full of humor, right up until Tony pays homage to Phil Coulson — and, well, then viewers will quickly be shifting from laughter to tears, but really, the whole scene is so, so well done.
