Premise: Michaela Coel, the BAFTA-winning creator of Chewing Gum, returns to series television as executive producer, writer, co-director, and star of this bold and candid series about dating and sex.
Coel plays Arabella, a care-free and self-assured Londoner with a group of great friends, an Italian boyfriend, and a burgeoning writing career; all of which are thrown into chaos following a sexual assault. Coel herself is a sexual assault survivor, and spoke about the “life-changing” experience during her keynote speech at 2018’s Edinburgh International Television Festival.
