Premise: Full of nostalgia, The Baby-Sitters Club is a modernized version of the original book franchise written by Ann M. Martin.
The contemporary dramedy is said to champion friendship and female empowerment, while also tackling heavier topics such as racism and divorce. The series a more diversified look at what young girls experience today, by changing the character of Dawn Schafer to make her Latina. From all accounts, despite the generational updating, this seems to be a more faithful adaptation to the original source material than anything we’ve seen onscreen before.
