We’ve seen him face off against the Dark Lord, figure out school, and fall in love but watching the Boy Who Lived in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was a completely new experience.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is an interesting look at the series we’ve come to love because we’re seeing Harry Potter in a new light. Before, we watched as the Boy Who Lived focused his time and energy on taking on Voldemort but then, by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we finally got to see a new version of him: One who was free of his duty.

So by the time we got to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, everything was so different. Not only was Harry an adult but he was a father and someone who cared so much about his family and their safety. Even when he made mistakes, he did so because he was trying to keep those he loved safe.

Cursed Child is different for us because he is older and his main goals aren’t just to get through school or defeat Voldemort. He has real-world issues he has to unpack and so much of it re-inforces what we love about him as a character. He’s dramatic, a lot, but he cares and that’s why we’ve loved Harry Potter from the start.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a perfect example of this series because it shows that we love these characters no matter what. We want to see them grow and the choices they make and it’s incredible.
