A Downton Abbey and Harry Potter crossover quiz? Count us in!
Ever wish that Downton Abbey and Harry Potter would cross over? Well now here is your chance: There is going to be a quiz with Jim Carter and Imelda Staunton for both!
If you’re like me, you probably can’t look at Imelda Staunton without thinking about the Harry Potter series and not in a good way. I cannot look at Stauton without instantly having a chill run down my spine because I know she’d Umbridge and I’m sorry to her but that’s just the way it is.
But finding out that Staunton is married to Downton Abbey‘s Carson (Jim Carter) is maybe the greatest moment in pop culture history. Okay, maybe not, but it is still very exciting to see these two together making jokes.
What’s exciting though is that Carter and Stauton are hosting an Abbey/Potter quiz! According to Mugglenet, the two will host a crossover quiz because look: We have some joint characters. Not only is Imelda Staunton in both franchises but, of course, the woman who stole our hearts: Dame Maggie Smith!
Playing both Minerva McGonagall and Lady Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, Smith is a wonderful connection to both series that are well-beloved by fans and that’s not even getting into Staunton’s characters on both.
So why not host a fun quiz for fans of both Harry Potter and Downton Abbey? We’re all inside together and bored and if Caron and Umbridge want to continue to do fun bits like this then I’m definitely going to tune in and see what happens!
