5. Season 6, Episode 19: “Glued, Where’s My Bob”
One of the most ambitious episodes of the series, “Glued, Where’s My Bob,” lands as both the sixth-season finale and the 100th episode, and finds Bob the unintended victim of one of Louise’s pranks.
In the opening moments of the episode, we learn Louise has been “gooping” (i.e. covering with sticky, gluey liquid) random objects in the apartment and restaurant. As a result of a goop misfire, Bob gets stuck to the toilet right as he’s about to be interviewed by a prestigious magazine, courtesy of Kumail Nanjiani’s endlessly cheerful chef Skip Marooch.
The stakes have never been higher, and the premise allows for a curtain call of sorts, seeing the return of Ken Jeong’s Dr. Yap as everyone tries to help get Bob off the toilet. The songs also excel in this episode, along with a lovely bit of animation as Bob begins to wonder whether he’ll ever leave the toilet.
It’s a fantastic self-contained episode that sums up the ethos of this weird and lovely show and also the dynamics between Bob and Louise, a pair who have their own specific sweet relationship despite Louise’s antics.
