6. Season 6, Episode 7: “The Gene and Courtney Show”

Season 6’s Valentine’s Day episode pairs Gene and Courtney together once again as they discover they are a good pair when it comes to producing the school’s morning announcements in an ensuing battle with another teacher to create the best news.

The format allows for lots of music as Gene and Courtney sing the morning announcements, and each rewatch finds new laughs and jokes (as with every Bob’s Burgers episode).

When they start to develop romantic feelings for each other, though, they have differing ideas on how to handle them. This leads to one of the sweetest songs in the entire series run with a lesson that viewers of any age can take away: Heartbreak doesn’t break you, it changes you for the better.

The other subplots of the episode are winners, too, as Tina orchestrates a school carnation sale only to descend into madness when she realizes no one has bought her a flower. Meanwhile. Bob, having promised to help buy the flowers and then forgotten, has to find enough carnations to buy at the 11th hour.
