When it comes to the Harry Potter series, we love to make references to it in other pop culture but when it is too much? Should we stop with them constantly and in everything?

More often than not, we’re watching something random on television or in the movies and there is a reference back to the Harry Potter series. We can ask ourselves why that is but we know the answer: It’s an easy joke and a fun way to get fans excited about something.

If you’re watching something random and they harken back to something you already know you love, are you not more inclined to then keep watching because they’ve shown they have good taste? But is there ever a point where it is too much?

Think about it, you’re watching something completely random and they throw in a reference to Gryffindors or Hogwarts just to get us to laugh or pay attention and it almost feels like a cheap shot. So when is it too much?

I think a lot of fans are looking for connections back to our favorite series but it doesn’t mean that we have to see it constantly. Calling out to the Harry Potter series just so you can get that fanbase for whatever reason almost feels like, at times, you don’t want to put in the work. There’s a difference between a one-off joke about the Harry Potter series versus something that talks about the franchise a lot.
