The lessons that Hogwarts taught us
While we know that Hogwarts is always there to welcome us home, it is important to think back on the lessons that the school left with us after reading the Harry Potter series.
Hogwarts has become something of a beacon for Harry Potter fans and not just because that’s where Harry and his friends went to school. Sure, we love the idea of going off to a castle to go to school to be witches and wizards but there is something about Hogwarts that is, obviously, there to welcome us home.
So what has it taught us about being friends and being there for each other and doing the right thing? A lot, actually. Sure, that’s partly because of the characters themselves but also Hogwarts is this home that everyone can constantly go back to and reminds those students (and us, as fans) that they will always have each other and Hogwarts to help them when they’re down.
Harry Potter never had a home, he hated his aunt and uncle and he fought to get away. His son hated living in his father’s shadow and wanted a place his own. They both found that in Hogwarts for themselves and there is a beauty to looking at those stories while also relating Hogwarts and our love for it to how we view life now.
Maybe it isn’t just about the characters but also about what Hogwarts represents to us. Or maybe it is a bit of an equal share but either way, we can also go back home.
