At its core, the Harry Potter franchise isn’t about good defeating evil, it’s about friendship

Good and evil battle in the world of Harry Potter but when everything is said and done, what’s important is friendship and working together more than anything else.

Without Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, Harry Potter would have died in the first book. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone would have been the beginning and the end of the series. But, because it is a story about friendship, he was able to stop and use his friends for help and guidance and thus succeed.

It’s a wonderful lesson to think about and it is, in most ways, the core of the series. Sure, good vs. evil is an important aspect of it all because Harry is trying to take down Voldemort. But then again, he wouldn’t be able to do that if he didn’t have friends to help him. Good will always win (or at least we up) but I think that good conquers because good always knows when to ask for advice.

So you can’t really have a story about good vs. evil without it centering around love and friendship, with the Harry Potter series does. Yes, friendship and love are two different parts of life in a lot of ways but Harry had both to help him win.

Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley were going to be there for him until the very end and J.K. Rowling made sure we knew to do that for our own friends as well. Support them, be there for them, and be the good you want to see.

Next. Harry Potter could always turn to his friends. dark
