Last week’s episode of Batwoman proved a lesson in trust for Kate Kane, and this week’s installment promises to hammer that lesson home, forcing Kate to question whether she can truly place her faith in any of the people around her.

The promo trailer for “A Secret Kept From All the Rest” promises more than one confrontation with her former love interests — and that’s not to mention the introduction of the comic villain Hush. As the drama intensifies, Batwoman is ramping up for a thrilling conclusion to its first season, even if that season is ending a bit prematurely.

The promo opens with Alice and Mouse, as Kate’s sister reminds him that Lucius Fox’s coded journal “holds the key to killing Batwoman.” Alice’s determination to destroy her sister has become more and more determined, and one has to wonder if Kate’s betrayal was really the catalyst to making her Alice’s enemy once and for all. After all, her sister hasn’t actually gone through with killing her yet — but she sure seems set on it.

More noteworthy is the appearance of Hush. Comic fans have been eager to see the Arrowverse’s interpretation of the character, and the series is emphasizing the villain’s debut enough that we have to assume he’ll become a much larger threat than the other Batman villains who have made cameos throughout the season.

On the personal end, Kate’s got a few other pressing matters to deal with, starting with Reagan’s betrayal and the newfound romance between Julia and Sophie. As if that drama isn’t enough to contend with, it also looks like Jacob will be severing ties with Batwoman once and for all, threatening her with “war” if she shows up at a crime scene again.

The storylines set up throughout this season are finally converging, all while a new villain takes the stage, making this episode of Batwoman one that fans won’t want to miss.
