2. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

Although A New Hope is one of the most iconic movies in the original trilogy — and thus, the one many of the other films and even The Mandalorian call back to — it’s hard to deny that the quality of the original trilogy only got better as it improved. It’s hard to say whether The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi is deserving of the number one slot on this list — but we’re leaning more toward the former, with Return of the Jedi coming in second to last (or first in this case).

Return of the Jedi is the film that rounds out the first Star Wars trilogy, and there’s honestly so much to love about it. From Luke’s debut as a fully trained Jedi to Leia cleverly saving Han to Darth Vader’s redemption, it’s impossible to choose one favorite aspect of this movie. Also, this is probably an unpopular opinion, but the introduction of the Ewoks still has us in awe. (Sorry, but they’re adorable!)

But while we have more reasons to love Return of the Jedi than to critique it, there are some moments that are less than spectacular during this film. For one, Boba Fett’s completely silly demis — that’s all they could give one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy? Really?

There are also some awkward fight scenes and dialogue moments throughout this film, though, really, that’s just small potatoes in comparison to all the great things it does. (We’re also still mad about Leia’s slave bikini, but … that’s a rant for a different day.)
