Killing Eve season 3 episode 4 preview: “Still Got It”
By Lacy Baugher
As Killing Eve season 3 continues, the question on all our minds is where Villanelle and Eve’s relationship can possibly go from here.
A lot is going on at the moment in this season of Killing Eve, but it’s likely that there’s only one question on viewers’ minds heading into its fourth episode: What about that kiss?
Last week’s installment featured not only the first face to face meeting between Villanelle and Eve since the former shot the later at the end of season 2, it also featured the first ever kiss between the two women, translating the constant sexual subtext between them into very literal text.
But, what does it mean? Well, we’re hoping that’s what the show’s next installment might tell us.
Entitled “Still Got It,” it looks as though this episode see’s Villanelle head back to Barcelona to sort out her reactions to everything that happened on her recent London mission. And as for Eve? Well, it’s not super clear what precisely she’s doing.
In all honestly, the trailers for Killing Eve have become almost nonsensical, offering little context for what the next episode of the show will bring. Instead, it’s just a sequence of intriguing images – this week’s includes the messy pink homemade cake from the season 3 trailer, a shot of Konstantin’s entertaining daughter, an unidentified pair of stylish red pumps, and (ugh) Nico.
Oh and there’s also that small bit where Villanelle gloats that Eve is still clearly into her.
Sidebar: I would pay a lot of money for that robe that Villanelle is wearing, just saying.
Given the bus sequence from “Meetings Have Biscuits” – and that kiss between our two leads – maybe it’s finally time for the show to dig into what these two women really mean to one another. What does either of them want from the other? And can this show commit to a single cohesive vision of this relationship, rather than trying to cover all its bases at once?
Place your bets on what’s next, folks.
Killing Eve season 3 continues Sunday at 9pm ET on BBC America.
