What if Harry Potter and Hermione Granger ended up together instead?
We all know that Harry Potter married Ginny Weasley but what if he and Hermione Granger had ended up together at the end of the series instead? Would it be different?
As a fan of both Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, I always wanted them to end up together. Clearly, that didn’t happen as Harry married Ginny Weasley and Hermione married Ron Weasley. But what if Harry and Hermione had been together in the end?
Honestly, it could have worked because then maybe Neville would have married Ginny, like a lot of fans thought, and Ron could have found love outside of just the people they all knew from Hogwarts. Part of the problem with the Harry Potter series straight up is that everyone marries the person they knew from school and that’s that.
So for Harry and Hermione, they would have fell into that same fate but there was just something about the two characters that worked as a couple. Every time Harry went to do something outrageous, Hermione was always there to stop him and that even continued into Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. If they had ended up together, it wouldn’t be that much different from the world we saw in Cursed Child. It’d just be a lot more Hermione and Harry talking about their kids instead of the two just talking to each other about the wizarding world at large and how they could help.
I still think they would have made a great couple though.
