Hedwig and why she still one of the greatest characters in the entire Harry Potter series
Most of the kids in the Harry Potter series had a beautiful pet that came with them to Hogwarts but there was no pet better than Hedwig and she remains one of the best characters.
Fans of the Harry Potter series love Hedwig. There is no other way of describing it. We just love Hedwig because of her dedication to Harry Potter and taking care of him. And a lot of other reasons but when it comes to her love of Harry, she makes sure that he is taken care of and protected to the point where she dies making sure that Harry lives.
It’s one of the deaths that stayed with us throughout the series and still won’t let us be. Sure, Hedwig died in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows but she is still a character we think about enough because when it mattered, Hedwig was there for Harry when no one else was.
The thing is, they needed each other. Hedwig needed Harry just as much as Harry needed Hedwig. While Scabbers was…well…Peter Pettigrew and Crookshanks was a fine cat for Hermione, Hedwig was a friend and confidant to Harry whenever he had to return to the Dursleys. She was there to look out for him and be there in ways that no one else was.
Not Ron, not Hermione, and not even Ginny. Hedwig got him through the hardships of his childhood in a lot of ways and the two were always stronger when they could rely on each other, which is strange to say since Hedwig was an owl.
