The Dumbledore Brothers: The struggle the two faced and how their relationship suffered
Albus Dumbledore and his brother, Aberforth don’t have the best relationship and looking back at their family and how the two were against each other is fascinating to look at.
When it comes to family drama, the Harry Potter series has it all and the Dumbledore brothers are pretty high up there on the list of familial squabbles. But what was it about their family that really hit home with fans? Probably the mystery of it all.
Let’s think about it for a minute. Ariana Dumbledore drove a wedge between Albus and his brother and they never really recovered. But through that we also now know they had a third brother (allegedly) that they never knew about.
That can’t be easy on a family, especially one that already has issues, so it makes sense that Aberforth and Albus aren’t close. It would have been nice to see them interact with each other though. Sure, we might still get to see them when the next Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie rolls up but until then, we’re just wondering how they’re going to cope with the news that Credence Barebone is, allegedly, a Dumbledore as well.
They’re a family who just had one thing after the other thrown at them so, in a weird way, it makes sense that Aberforth and Albus are not that close. Imagine your brother and you had to learn so much about your family and battle through all of that and fight over your sister, you probably wouldn’t be too keen on each other either.
