There are things in the Harry Potter series that would be useful to have in our everyday life and one of those things? Port keys. You just grab it and literally go.

Port keys are an interesting aspect to the Harry Potter series. We first learned of their existence when Harry went with the Weasleys to the Quidditch World Cup and honestly, for that moment, they seemed incredibly fun and useful.

Sort of. They clearly had a side effect (you screamed the entire journey) and if you weren’t there at the right time, you’d miss it (just like the MTA). But still, it was quick and easy like many of the “advancements” of the series and it makes you think about how much easier life would be if they existed.

Think about it, how often do you have to travel somewhere and regret making the choice to go when you think about travel? What if you’re someone who doesn’t like flying so that six hour plane ride somewhere suddenly feels like the longest six hours of your life?

Now, if we all had port keys and could travel where we needed to go quickly, it wouldn’t be that bad. Just a bit of discomfort on the front end and then you’re there in the blink of an eye. But then again, I am the kind of person that fears nearly everything so any kind of travel like that would still probably be an anxiety-ridden experience so we may never win.

dark. Next. Harry Potter and the generation that helped to cement it

Do you think your life would be made easier with a port key? Or do you think that port keys in general are lackluster to other modes of transportation within the Harry Potter series? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
