While it is easy to look back on the Harry Potter series and understand why it is a popular but it took a generation of kids loving the series and the world Rowling created to get it there.

When it comes to Harry Potter, the kids who read it from the start have a feeling towards it unlike any other. We are the generation who grew up with Harry and his friends and, to many, we’re the reason the series is this giant thing now. Sure, maybe somewhere, we were always going to end up with the series being a movie franchise and a huge deal but because we were the generation who read the books and talked about it, it feels like we’re the ones who are responsible for its success.

And maybe that’s something that every generation feels about the thing that is popular from that era. Maybe kids in the 70s and 80s think that Star Wars became this big thing because they went to the movies and kept talking about it. But it does feel like we have this title over us because we’re the kids who grew up reading the books and we aged with them.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter because the series is now ingrained in our minds and our societies but it is still weird to think about how things could have been so different when it comes to how successful the Harry Potter series could have been without us as kids yelling about it.

dark. Next. Okay but why would Harry Potter name his son Albus Severus?

Do you think that the Harry Potter generation helped to cement it in our history or was it always just going to be this big? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
