Any time there is a problem in the world, we often compare it all to the Harry Potter series which is probably saying more about us than the world at large, if we’re being honest.

Look, we’ve all read the Harry Potter series. That has never been more clear than in times of crisis. We seem to constantly relate it back to the series and it makes many around the internet ask: Have we read any other kind of book? Which, fair.

But why is it the Harry Potter series that continues to make us look at our own world and government and want us to connect the two? Probably because everything is such a mess and we know that there are brave people out there or within us who will fight against the dangers of the world. Harry and his friends defeated Voldemort and didn’t listen to the Ministry of Magic until they ended up taking over and doing what’s right.

So yes, right now when we’re looking down the face of a pandemic and all stuck inside, we’re turning to Harry Potter to try and understand things. Which, maybe we should look to other series but it’s just a comfort thing, right? We look at Harry taking on those who won’t listen to reason and we can see our own situation and just relate to it in a comfortable way.

Maybe people want us all to talk about any other series but also, sorry, we just like talking about what Harry Potter means to us all and that’s…probably not going to change any time soon.

dark. Next. The Weasley twins and why they are some of the most tragic characters in Harry Potter
