Need some help deciding what to read this month? We run down 11 of the best new YA book releases hitting shelves in April, just in time to brighten up our stay-at-home days.

Let’s be real: A good book has become a key part of everyone’s quarantine strategy. And one of the few benefits of this admittedly frightening and uncertain situation is that we’re all at home now, with more time to tackle that TBR pile we’ve been ignoring for forever.

Or, you know, add even more books to it. Not that I’m speaking from personal experience or anything. It’s fine.

So, just in case you need more options, April is shaping up to be a month full of exciting YA releases, for every kind of reader. From adorable and fluffy romantic comedies and exciting high fantasy stories to highly anticipated sequels and creepy thrillers, there’s truly something for everyone this month.

And honestly, these stories couldn’t have arrived at a better time for all of us.

That said. it’s also more important than ever to remember to support the authors you love during these uncertain times – especially those with books releasing this month who probably had to cancel most if not all of their promotional appearances and book tour stops in the wake of social distancing and state lockdowns. Whether you’re choosing to order more e-books these days, or shopping online at your favorite independent bookshop, every little bit does help.

Now, on to the books!

Here are our picks for the best new YA releases hitting shelves this April. Enjoy – and make sure you let us know what you’re reading!
