Tom Hanks shares appreciation post after returning to U.S. with Rita Wilson
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have returned to the United States after quarantining in Australia, with Hanks expressing appreciation for all the well wishes while the two have received.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were the first celebrities to announce they’d been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), reporting that they’d been forced to self-quarantine in Australia, where Hanks was working on a film at the time. The two have been keeping their fans updated throughout their quarantine, and over the weekend, they finally announced the end of their quarantine and return to Los Angeles.
Of course, even though the couple is home, they’ll still be spending a lot more time indoors until the health crisis calms down. Hanks said as much in his Twitter update, writing, “We’re home now, and, like the rest of America, we carry on with sheltering in place and social distancing.” With the regulations being put in place at the state and national levels, there isn’t much else to do — and it’s good that celebrities are abiding by these rules and encouraging others to do the same.
In his Tweet, Hanks also expressed gratitude for all the support he and Wilson have received, not only from those in Australia who helped care for the couple while in quarantine, but also to fans around the world who have sent well wishes. Good news is hard to come by these days, but the couple’s recovery and positive attitude certainly gives people a reason to be hopeful.
