Hufflepuffs get a bad name. No one wants to be a Hufflepuff and if you are one, you try and defend it but now there is Newt Scamander and Cedric Diggory so…is it cool?

When it comes to Hufflepuffs, no one wanted to be labeled as one when I was growing up. To be a Hufflepuff meant you were a particularly good finder and that’s it. But as the Harry Potter series went on and we met Cedric Diggory or as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premiered and we met Newt Scamander, things started to change.

From being the house that no one really wanted to be in to being stars, being a Hufflepuff wasn’t so much a bad thing. To be honest, I don’t think that being a Hufflepuff was ever really a bad thing because if it is a house you love then that’s important enough.

Part of the problem with the Hogwarts houses is that everyone loves their own house so much they are willing to tear down others to explain why theirs is the best. Or maybe that’s just me and my love of being a Gryffindor. Whatever, the point is that Hufflepuffs are slowly making it known that they’re the cool house.

If it’s not with Cedric Diggory, than it is easily because of Newt Scamander. He’s a great Hufflepuff, he is obviously a great finder, and he’s constantly putting himself on the line for what he believes in (which is why he got kicked out of Hogwarts in the first place) but still.
