What was it about Viktor Krum that attracted Hermione Granger to him in the first place?

Hermione Granger went to the Yule Ball with Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire but have we ever really asked ourselves why? What was it about him?

Viktor Krum was a character that showed up in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and threw a wrench into the plans of Ron Weasley. Well, and in my dreams, in the plans of Harry Potter too but mainly Ron Weasley. He came in, only had eyes for Hermione and I had questions.

Everyone at Hogwarts was fascinated by Viktor Krum except for Hermione Granger. Which is probably why the two ended up coming together because she was one who didn’t seem to fawn over him like even Harry Potter and Ron Weasley did.

So what is it about Viktor Krum that still keeps us talking? Probably the fact that he basically disappears from the series after being somewhat important throughout it. I get it, not every character is going to be in every single movie but it is interesting that he had such an impact on Hogwarts (and fans) and then disappeared from then on.

Would things have been different for Hermione Granger if Viktor Krum had somehow remained a bigger part of the series? Or would she have still ended up with Ron Weasley? Who is to say but it is fun to look back at the fascination many had with Viktor Krum back in Goblet of Fire and how it has taken a turn away from the series when Viktor Krum was not featured heavily otherwise.
