Let’s talk about young Albus Dumbledore for a minute
Maybe it’s because he’s Jude Law or maybe it’s because it is just a different kind of Albus Dumbledore but there is certainly something about Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts that’s appealing.
Jude Law came into the Harry Potter series as a young Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and many of us have thoughts about his portrayal. Not because we didn’t like it or anything like that but more so that he was…well…attractive.
Dumbledore has been, at least to those of us who grew up reading the series, an older man with a long beard who was much too old for us all. So then when Jude Law showed up with a three-piece suit on…well, some things changed.
Basically, we all suddenly thought Dumbledore was hot and that’s what is a little bit baffling to many of us as fans. Why couldn’t Dumbledore look like he did in the flashbacks? Why couldn’t he be not Jude Law because now, we’re thinking about Dumbledore when he was young and honestly, that’s a thing I never really need to think about.
Hot Dumbledore is a phenomenon. One that I wonder if it only exists because it is Jude Law but then again, who knows. Now, it exists, it’s out there, and we’re all subjected to the knowledge that, when he was younger, Dumbledore was a babe and would definitely be that professor that students have crushes on even though they shouldn’t. I blame those suits!
Sorry that you’re all thinking about young hot Dumbledore now but it’s not nice to suffer alone.
