Queer Eye

If you’re looking for the most cathartic cry of your life, turn on an episode of Queer Eye. Follow along with the Fab Five as they makeover the lives of ordinary people who need a little bit of direction in life. Be prepared to sob as you witness just how far a little kindness, compassion, and empathy can go when we’re determined to be the best versions of ourselves.

The OA

Honestly, I don’t fully understand much of what happens on this show … I just know it’s tremendously special and makes me feel whole. Another Netflix original that was dropped too soon (are you seeing a theme here?), The OA is about a group of individuals who survived near-death experiences and a crooked scientist determined to exploit them. The plot will draw you in, but the characters are what will make you stay on this twisted, weird, transcendent journey.

Lost

As the show that got me through one of the darkest periods of my life, I had to throw it in here. If you’re tired of the grim, dark, hopeless landscape of modern dramas, throw it back to 2004 and immerse yourself in one of the most masterfully written shows in television history. If you don’t think you’re into sci-fi or survival stories, think again, because Lost is so much more than either of those. At its core, it’s a story about human relationships and the lasting impact we have on everyone we cross paths with.
