Hermione Granger is great but also isn’t a perfect character

We often look to Hermione Granger as this iconic character who is the end all, be all but it’s important to note that Hermione is far from a perfect character by any means.

Hermione Granger is the kind of character that many looked up to growing up. She was strong, smart, and didn’t care what people told her, she was going to do what she had to to be successful. But she also isn’t perfect.

Throughout the years, Hermione has become a source for feminist conversation and while great, it is important to note that Hermione is the kind of woman who wanted to help those around her but didn’t really look out for anyone.

With S.P.E.W., she wanted to help out the house elves but she didn’t really have any plans for helping them once they were done and she also became the Minister of Magic and still didn’t do anything (that we know of) to free them.

Again, I love Hermione Granger, but I think that she’s someone who has so many ideas but also doesn’t completely know how to go about them. Hermione is the kind of person who knows things but needs someone like Harry and Ron to help her carry them out.

She isn’t perfect but then, would we want her to be a perfect character? Then she’d end up someone who doesn’t feel real. But the fact that Hermione tries to do the right thing but might not really succeed at doing so makes her even more of a character that I can look up to to me.

So now, Hermione Granger isn’t perfect but she’s ours.
