Despite film and television production halts across Hollywood, a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy will still air tonight — and likely for the next few weeks after that.

Everyone is back at Grey Sloan (except Alex) — even Richard, who’s facing a lot of uncertainty about his future as a doctor and recently resigned his official duties as a surgeon. With things in seemingly normal working order, it appears there’s no better time for trying something new.

After Tom and Meredith’s discussion last week about money and being a “good person,” Meredith decides to launch an initiative to fit as many pro bono surgeries into one 24-hour period as possible. There are a lot of people in need of help, though, and it doesn’t look like things are going to go according to plan. Do they ever?

With DeLuca probably on the verge of big trouble (again) and Meredith still feeling partially responsible for what happens to him (he was her first love after Derek after all), it looks like this episode will yield the kind of heartfelt drama we’re all signed up for.

Though the near future of this show and many others are uncertain, at least for now, we can still find comfort in watching our favorite characters fall in and out of love, make mistakes and bad decisions, and grow despite the challenges they face on-screen.

And when finished episodes do run out? At least there are 15 full seasons’ worth of episodes to binge-watch while we wait.
