Social Distance and Binge: What to watch on Netflix this week
By Sabrina Reed
Feel Good
In Feel Good, comedian Mae Martin is spinning her life experiences into a series that explores new love between her character Mae and George, a woman who’d previously only dated men before she met Mae at a comedy show. The two hit it off quickly and fall in love, but while their initial connection is easy, it becomes more and more complicated as they grow together in their relationship.
Mae is an addict and hadn’t disclosed that information to George before her parents did. George hasn’t brought Mae around her friends. Being with a woman is new for her, and with her feelings being new and her world shifting on its axis, it’s all been a lot for her. They’re two women trying to figure life and themselves out while holding tight to a love that feels good for them both.
As Mae says, “I’ve been with good people. Really good people. And I lie next to them and I just feel so restless. When I lie next to you, I feel like still and quiet.” If that’s not a love that’ll keep you warm through this social distance period then I don’t know what will.
