Honestly, just thinking about Sirius Black and how he was hurt
One of the greatest characters in the Harry Potter series was Sirius Black and thinking about his life and what he dealt with is a very sad aspect of this series.
Sirius Black came into Harry Potter’s life quickly and while he left a lasting impression on him, it still wasn’t that much time. The reality is just that Sirius was trapped in Azkaban, then he couldn’t go running around because he was a fugitive, and then he died and that was that.
What’s really sad though is looking at Sirius’s life and what it was like while he was trapped and even before. He didn’t have a family who loved him, he just had James Potter and their friends and even then, one turned on him and left him while throwing the other to Voldemort.
He really only ever had Remus Lupin after James died and even that was hard because Remus had to pretend that he didn’t know where Sirius was. The entire time Sirius Black was fighting for his freedom and to be with those who he loved only for it to come crashing down around him.
He’s truly one of the most tragic characters, stuck in this cycle where he can’t even get out of it with his freedom and that part of his character, at least to me, is something that really hits hard when you stop and think about it.
So yes, to me, Sirius Black is one of the most heartbreaking characters in the entire series and continues to be so even years later.
