Why haven’t we really talked about how all the students at Hogwarts are humans? Where are the magical creatures that exist in the Harry Potter universe?

When it comes to the Harry Potter series and sentient beings who are magical..it’s not great. Mainly because so often, we see Harry interact with non-humans and they talk about magic and yet everyone at Hogwarts is a human being.

So…what’s the deal with magical beings and going to Hogwarts if they’re not humans? If we remember, Hagrid was tormented for being half-giant so imagine being any kind of species other than human at Hogwarts if it was that bad for Hagrid.

Why is it that the school doesn’t have Goblin students? They have Professor Flitwick as a professor so clearly he was at Hogwarts and yet all the students are just humans. Is that because of budget restrictions? But even in the books, there isn’t a memorable character that is anything other than human.

So why not branch the world out more in that regard? They have the ability to be different, to be bold and, frankly, it isn’t that way. Not saying I don’t love the characters that we do have in the series but I think it was a missed opportunity, especially since we know there are magical beings in the series who are not human.

Maybe we’ll see a different aspect of the Harry Potter series soon but until then, we’ll have to just dream of what we could have had with the series.
