Chris Pratt: Jurassic World 3 will be the Avengers: Endgame of Jurassic Park films

The original Jurassic Park cast is returning for Jurassic World 3, and according to Chris Pratt, this installment will be similar to Avengers: Endgame.

Just as “life finds a way,” Jurassic Park continues finding ways to reinvent itself — and the upcoming addition to the franchise, Jurassic World 3, is shaping up to be one of the biggest installments yet. Not only are Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard back in action for this sequel, but several noteworthy cast members from the original Jurassic Park films are making an appearance. Among those confirmed for the film are Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum.

With the whole gang getting together again, the third Jurassic World movie is said to tie all of the previous films together. And according to Pratt, it’ll be just like Avengers: Endgame in that sense. Given how different the two franchises are, it’s an odd comparison to make — but it’s one the actor mentioned during his recent Ellen Degeneres Show appearance. And if anyone would know if the two films are similar, it’s him. (He is in both of them, after all.)

“This feels like it,” Pratt said. “I’m not allowed to say anything … It’s got everybody. It’s got pretty much everybody in it. Maybe I just blew it, but I don’t care. All the cast from the original Jurassic Park is coming back. It’s going to feel very much like how Endgame brought everything together for Marvel.”

Hopefully, tying everything together is all these two movies have in common. (We’re not sure we’re ready to see our Jurassic Park faves get eaten by dinosaurs or turned to dust by the end of this movie.) But there’s also the question of how Jurassic World 3 will integrate the previous films’ cast and storylines into the new trilogy. While the two sets of films have similar plots and tackle the same themes, the Jurassic World movies take place after scientists have already mastered the DNA-replication experiments taking place in the first few films. Will they need to return to the beginning to stop their creations from running rampant? It’s possible. Perhaps Dr. Grant, Dr. Satler, and Dr. Malcolm are simply popping in to say, “I told you so.”
