The cast of First Wives Club is back together for Family Jewels

The First Wives Club was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Yes, I was a weird kid. There was one summer when I watched it almost every day on cable. Women getting even at their awful husbands? What more could you want? The main cast of the movie haven’t been in a film together since, but that’s about to change with Family Jewels.

Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Diane Keaton are back together, and it’s for a Christmas movie! Family Jewels follows three ex-wives who find out they were all married to the same man at some point in their lives. How do they find out? Well, the guy dies (in a department store!), and the three ex-wives, along with his children and grandchildren, all must get together to go away for the holidays.

And you thought your holidays were rough?

How this reunion has taken this long is a travesty. Midler, Hawn, and Keaton’s chemistry is off the charts. If you’ve seen The First Wives Club, you know how brilliant they are together and how well they play off one another. This movie is going to be amazing and hilarious!

Production is supposed to begin sometime this year, so there’s no release date, but I’m guessing probably around Christmastime next year. Getting it out in time for this Christmas is probably not plausible. It doesn’t even have a director yet, but it’s being written by Peter Hoare, who also wrote Standing Up, Falling Down and Killing Hasselhoff.
