It’s been over a year since we last saw some of the most beautiful people on television. Our long national nightmare is over. Outlander has returned.

In a sweeping, cinematic trailer, season five will continue to deal with Jamie and Claire’s life as American pioneers at Fraser’s Ridge. The trailer also shows Brianna with her new baby, and will likely follow what will (surely) be a difficult adjustment to motherhood.

At the conclusion of season four, Roger and Brianna had finally reunited and gotten engaged after Jamie had mistaken him for Brianna’s attacker. Meanwhile, the final episode of season four ended with Jamie being given a direct order to hunt and kill his father figure/best friend Murtagh.

Starz’s official synopsis for the season premiere reads:

"“Following celebrations in honor of Brianna and Roger’s wedding, Governor Tryon reminds Jamie of his obligation to hunt down and kill Murtagh Fitzgibbons.”"

It appears we’ll be picking up right where we left off with plenty more drama and whiskey to come our way. Most of all, some of the most beautiful people on television have returned to our screens, which is the real reason to celebrate.
