Meg March is an important character in Little Women and Emma Watson managed to bring her to life in a beautiful way, including her relationship with the rest of the March sisters.

Emma Watson has brought to life some amazing characters in her time. Starting with Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, she went on to Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and now Meg March in Little Women.

The thing about Meg, that is different from her characters before, is that she isn’t the kind of woman who wants to go out and achieve these huge dreams. Meg March is happy to be married and live a “simple” life as compared to her sisters Amy and Jo. Which is what makes the March sisters so important.

In Greta Gerwig’s adaptation, Watson brings Meg to life in a way that shows that yes, she loves the idea of acting with her sisters and having fun, but that isn’t what she wants to do with her life. She’s happy to be a wife even if she does, in some sense, want more. She’s just not as ambitious as Jo or Amy or even Beth.

But Emma Watson brings her to life in a beautiful way because she never comes across as a sad character. She was fully formed and happy and I think a huge part of that is Emma Watson and her ability as an actress. She’s wonderful and has continued to show us all the beauty in her characters and for that, she’s one of the best actresses we could have had for Hermione Granger.
