Imagine you’re going to Hogwarts, you’re excited, and then you have to tell your non-wizarding friends you’re just leaving school and never coming back. How’s that work out?

Hogwarts and the wizarding world in general is interesting because everything is very secretive. Meaning that you can be a Muggle, go to Hogwarts, and then suddenly you’re just not at school the next year or on social media anymore and you’re supposed to just make up some excuse as to why.

For Harry, it was easy because he didn’t really have any friends before he went to school but what happens when someone else goes to Hogwarts who does have a lot of friends and enjoys their lives in school? What about them? Do they just suddenly have to write off everyone in their life in order to go and study magic?

It’s stuff like this that makes the wizarding world interesting because they don’t really get into what happens to muggle students and their connections to their old lives or what wizarding kids do before they go to Hogwarts. It’s a bit messy.

School has been so important, do their old teachers not ask what happened? Isn’t there some kind of tracking on whether or not kids are being educated? What do the parents say? “Oh my kid went off to a boarding school you can’t look up? Very selective.”? Everything about the little things of Harry Potter gets confusing and interesting in a way that makes us just question a lot of things. Mainly like…did no one ask any questions?
