These Arrow series finale images take fans back to the beginning
The series finale of Arrow is rapidly approaching, and the latest images from the final episode suggest we’ll be seeing many familiar faces.
Although the future of the Arrowverse looks promising (and female), the show that started it all is coming to an end this month. On January 28, Arrow will take its final bow with its two-part series finale, and fans have to say farewell to Oliver Queen and his companions (even if we’ve sort of already done that during Crisis on Infinite Earths).
And speaking of Oliver’s companions, the latest images released of the Arrow series finale suggest we’ll be seeing a lot of familiar faces during the show’s final installment. Not only do we get an appearance from Felicity Smoak, who has been absent most of this season, but even Moira Queen, Thea Queen, Barry Allen, William Clayton and Emiko Queen will show up — along with many other fan favorites from the past eight seasons.
With Oliver gone, it seems there will be some sort of funeral, as many of the images show his loved ones in all black, holding umbrellas and looking fairly grim. This scene is sure to pull at some heartstrings, so it’s wise to keep a box of tissues onhand while watching the episode.
Thea, Moira, William, and Emiko stand together in one shot, shown here:
Given that Moira and Emiko are both supposed to be dead, it’s a surprise to see the two of them attending Oliver’s funeral service — though it’s possible the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths resurrected them both. (If only we could say the same for Mr. Queen himself.)
Felicity also returns for the funeral, standing side by side with her and Oliver’s daughter, Mia. The two are joined by The Flash‘s Barry Allen in one promotional image, which is no surprise given how close he was with Oliver — and how many crossovers the two have been involved with together.
John Diggle is also shown attending the funeral with his wife, Lyla, and this image of them holding hands with Felicity and Mia is sure to give fans all of the feels:
The big finale features more than a funeral, though, even if the official synopsis is as vague as can be. The images released also show the full gang, including Laurel Lance, Curtis Holt, and Roy Harper standing around Felicity in front of three computer monitors — meaning the group will likely have some trouble to solve before the series is trhough.
And though she’s not pictured above, Sara Lance will also be joining in on whatever Team Arrow gets up to during “Fadeout”:
With so many character appearances, emotions are bound to be at an all-time high when the final episode of Arrow fades to black. But it’ll be nice to see all of these characters together one more time, even if we’re busy crying our eyes out in the process. And who knows? Maybe some of them will show up in the possible Green Arrow and the Canaries spin-off.
