With three episodes and two weeks left, The Good Place looks like it wrapped everything up this past week. But not everything will be as it seems, right?

The Good Place seemed to wrap everything up in a neat little package in this week’s episode. The team was able to get the demons to understand their new version of testing and find their first group of test subjects.

And then, just as the new Neighborhood is about to launch to see if it’s truly going to work, the Soul Squad is given their golden ticket to the Good Place.

It seems very wrong.

This team has fought their entire lives. Tahani to crawl out from Kamillah’s shadow, Eleanor and Jason just to survive, Chidi to find some sort of meaning and order in life, Michael to create his new idea for torture, then his reformed ways, and Janet to be a much more advanced not-a-girl-not-a-robot.

And our four humans have fought tooth and nail for the 800-odd years they’ve been dead, too. Eleanor and Chidi have fought to find each other again and again and they have all managed to become better people because of it.

Now they’re all literally flying off into the sunset and getting exactly what they wanted: To go to the Good Place.

And it still seems very wrong.

So do these law three episodes show us the Soul Squad adapting to life in The Good Place for all eternity? Rubbing elbows with philosophers and… uh… cavemen? Who else has gotten into the Good Place? If so, it’s going to be a boring (but funny) last three episodes.

Or the more obvious question: Does The Good Place need fixing as well?

It’s been 600 years since someone joined their ranks. We’ve seen the Good Place committee and they’re terrible. How has eternal happiness fared in the last six centuries? Probably poorly.

After all, everyone is in need of their next thing to fight for. They’re all out of a job. And if it’s fixing literal Heaven, then it’s fixing literal Heaven.

Next. Parting is such sweet sorrow: Saying goodbye to Anne With an E. dark

Because if there’s one thing our four humans, reformed demon, and not-a-robot-not-a-girl are good at, it’s fixing things.
